FOOD PLAN

 

I call this a food plan,  because I don’t like the word diet, a diet I see as something that is very low calorie or low fat or low carb which just becomes just another quick way to lose weight, but then usually ends up with that person gaining the weight back on and sometimes more weight.

 

It gets very confusing seeing all of these diets and all of these celebrities that have lost amazing amounts of weight in a short space of time, so then you try the latest diet, and then someone else talks about another diet, so you try that diet, and it just has a YOYO effect, that you lose weight and then you gain weight in a vicious cycle on the weight loss merry go round.

 

You may even have tried eating a sensible diet of just healthy eating, but even then it gets confusing, someone tells you that you should be eating low fat and someone else tells you that you should be eating full fat, there is so much information out there, which is great that everyone has an opinion, but it makes it confusing. Then also you have to decide what to eat, and then it’s very easy to get in from work hungry and craving a food (chocolate/wine/crisps), you’ve had a long stressful day at work and give in to the temptation of that food craving and then you feel bad about it, and then you eat more of it and feel even worse about it… Am I on the right track here?

 

This is why you need a plan that is tailored to you, a sensible healthy eating plan that is easy to follow with simple and healthy food choices that taste great and will keep you full of energy, and you will never go hungry because the food choices will be filling and at regular intervals and also specific to your weight/age/activity levels and your goals.

What I am trying to get people to do is change their lifestyle choices so that this becomes a natural way of eating and not just a short term fix. Eat the correct foods at the correct times in the correct measure so that you can lose weight in a safe and sustainable way or gain weight in a safe way. Eating the correct foods at the correct time is so important in reaching your health and fitness goals, but also as important are eating the correct quantities. When I meet with my new clients I will go through their eating habits, patterns and food choices. Each person varies, but there is usually one of these factors that are missing.

 

TIME

 

It is important to eat at the correct time of the day to kick start your metabolism and also to keep your metabolism steady throughout the day by continuing to eat at regular intervals

 

WHAT YOU EAT

To put this very simple, It is very important to eat the correct foods, as some foods have good fats and some have more bad fats…some foods are high in sugar and some foods are high in hidden sugars....some foods have good carbs and some have bad carbs……some foods are high in protein and some are low in protein.

 

QUANTITY

 

The amount of food that we eat is very important also, some people eat really healthy, but eat too big of a portion, this may be due to boredom, not drinking enough fluids, eating at the wrong time.

 

I’m sure that everyone’s diets can be changed just slightly and make a huge difference to their health and energy, and also to their desired weight, whether that is weight loss or weight gain.
